Garden Edging Online
Shopify Redesign & CRO

Premium redesign and conversion optimization for a UK garden-edging Shopify storefront. 01 / The work

The project.

Garden Edging Online engaged us for a Shopify redesign, not a rebuild. The brand is a UK landscaping supplier specializing in metal garden edging, raised beds, retaining walls, and planter tubs. The existing storefront was technically functional but visually cluttered, and Instagram traffic was dropping off before reaching product pages. The brief: keep what works (the bundle structure underneath, which feeds a 3PL fulfillment system), and rework the front-end to feel premium, minimal, and outcome-focused.

The work started with theme testing (Tinker, Atelier, and Craft) to find the best architectural base before any custom Liquid was written. Once the foundation was picked, the homepage got rebuilt around the brand's actual selling point: not metal products, but the finished garden. Considered imagery, structured trust signals (Trustpilot, certifications, guarantees, before-and-after installations), and a clear visual hierarchy: three seconds to understand what's on offer, no overload.

Pricing moved off the homepage entirely. The brief was specific: homepage sells the outcome, product pages sell the spec. Product page templates were rewritten for conversion clarity, then the same patterns rolled across collections so the four pillar categories (Garden Edging, Raised Beds, Retaining Walls, Planter Tubs) all read with the same editorial discipline.

Beyond the storefront: Klarna integration for higher-value baskets, an installer-locator feature for customers who want a fitting service, and a clear Instagram-to-purchase flow optimized for mobile-first traffic. The bundle structure underneath, which feeds the client's 3PL logic, was preserved without rewriting; the work was in how bundles are presented, not how they're structured.

02 / Process

How we built it.

Steps that mattered for this project.

01 / Theme

Theme testing & foundation

Tinker, Atelier, and Craft tested side-by-side to pick the best premium base. Architecture decided before any custom Liquid was written, so the rebuild had a defensible starting point rather than a rushed pick.

02 / Homepage

Outcome-focused storytelling

Homepage rebuilt to sell the finished garden, not the metal product. Trust signals: Trustpilot, certifications, guarantees, before-and-after installations. Pricing moved off entirely; homepage sells outcome, product pages sell spec.

03 / Templates

Product & category rollout

Product page template rewritten for conversion clarity, then rolled across the four pillar categories (Garden Edging, Raised Beds, Retaining Walls, Planter Tubs). Same editorial discipline across the catalog.

04 / Conversion

Klarna, installer locator & mobile flow

Klarna integration for higher-value baskets, installer-locator feature for customers wanting a fitting service, mobile-first Instagram-to-purchase flow. Bundle structure underneath kept intact for 3PL fulfillment.
